Had an exciting tour of volcanic sites, from old lava fields to hot mud pools to acid rivers in Iwate. Places you would not easily find yourself, plus having an expert tell you all about the history and cultural meaning of these locations made it so much more interesting! A truly memorable day.

Our three week trip to Tohoku was filled with highlights, but on the two days we spent with Quinlan he stepped it up to flat-out amazement. He took us to the places we requested, and along the way threw in a half-dozen sights we never would have known about and which he knew thoroughly. In addition to being an expert guide on the trails, he taught us Japanese culture and history and he knew who to call to get us an excellent meal in town at the end of the day.
